Wearable Blue Smoky Eye

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog! :)

For this week I decided to take it up a notch by creating a blue smoky eye, but making it a bit more wearable. The colour blue may intimidate some of you because it is more daring than creating a brown smoky eye. So I created this look for those who wish to go out of their comfort zone once in a while but are not confident to create such a look.

When creating this look I recommend starting with the eyes first, as the blue shades tend to have a bit of fallout. Start by using a transition shade, from the crease upwards. When creating smoky eyes I always use warm, brown shades as a transition just because of personal preference, as I love the warm tones more than cool tones. I mixed together Frappe from Makeup Geek and Sorbet from the Kylie Royal Peach palette.
Then in the outer corner of my lid, I mixed Royal from Kylie Royal Peach palette with Boo Berry from Makeup Geek. I wanted to place brighter shades first so that the darker blue would have a more pop to it. This is where most people give up and remove everything! Start applying the brighter blue shades with a flat shader brush, keeping it lower than your crease. Add little by little rather than a lot of eye shadow in one go, and always blend in between with a clean blending brush. It is a must to have more than one blending brush for this look so that as you add more of the blue shade you would blend it in to look seamless with the initial transition shade. Then I applied Houdini from Makeup Geek on top of those bright blue shades, stopping at the inner third of the eye. I applied Houdini with my fingers as it applies better that way than with a brush.
For the inner corner of my eye, I applied Sorbet from the Kylie Royal Peach palette. I always prefer to apply a lighter shade in my inner corner rather than continue with the dark shade, as that tends to make my eyes look much smaller. It also makes the look a bit more wearable.

Rather than applying a winged liner, I used a black eye shadow and tight lined my upper and lower lash line. On the lower lash line I did the exact same as I did on my lid; applied Houdini in the outer corner and buffed it out using the transition shades.
