Clarisonic Mia 2 VS Foreo Luna Play
Hello everyone! Welcome back to my blog :)
Excuse me if the following blog posts will be up a bit late, but exams will start this Saturday up till the next two weeks! Rant over, onto the actual topic of this post. I have been using the Clarisonic Mia 2 for quite a long time now, and I have recently received the Foreo Luna play for which I have been using for the last month.
If you have no idea what these two devices are; these are an addition to your skincare routine, with the aim to delve further into your skin and clean it further. A lot of people rave about these two products and since they are both quite pricey, it can be quite a tough decision of which one to buy. So I decided to give you a review to the skincare lovers out there!
These are both waterproof, so you do not need to worry about over wetting the device. This is a huge advantage because you can leave it in the shower and make it a habit to clean your face while you are taking a shower.
The Foreo Luna Play that I own is battery operated and it is non-rechargeable. It is not pricy as the actual Foreo, so that you can give this a try before committing yourself to the full-sized rechargeable device. It has two zones, one with ultra-fine and the other has thicker touch points to target normal and congested areas. One thing which I do quite like about this device is that it is made out of silicone so bacteria will not cling onto the brush, like that of the Clarisonic and you would not have to change the brush head every 4 months.
However I feel like this device, does not clean the skin as the Clarisonic does. Another thing which put me off from using the Foreo, is the shape of the device. Call me picky, but these are the little things that distinguish one product from another. The Clarisonic is more comfortable to use, as with the Foreo, the cleanser will start running down your hand. If you are willing to purchase the full-sized Foreo Luna, it includes 12 intensities, however, the Foreo Luna Play mini does not include these alterations so I cannot quite give my feedback from that aspect.
The Clarisonic Mia 2 is a two-speed cleansing brush; I use the high speed around the nose, chin and forehead; the areas where the pores are clogged the most. They also have different brush heads, for different skin type, however I always purchase for the normal skin type as that is the brush head that it initially came with and I loved the results. The brush is not as sturdy so it allows you to get into the hardest corners of your face, including around the nose. The Clarisonic also beeps to give you an indication, to switch from one part of the face to another. It claims to clean your skin 6 times better than your hands, which I do not know if that is an exaggeration, but I do agree that it does clean my skin way better than using only my hands.
Both the devices clean your skin way better than if you were to use your only your hands. These allow the products to delve deeper into the skin, hence getting better use out of the product. In my honest opinion, I do actually prefer the end results of the Clarisonic. Do you own any of these devices? Let me know in the comments below!
